Attendees will hear a panel discussion by elected officials
about their successes and challenges with smart growth
policy formulation, such as preservation through renovation
of historic buildings, renewable energy, and land use.
Speakers include: State Senator Abel Tapia, Pueblo City
Councilperson Randy Thurston, Mayor Eric Drummond of Manitou
Springs, and Town of South Fork Board Trustee Beau Meyer.
The discussion will be moderated by Mike Tedesco, the
Executive Director of the Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority and
author of City Boy: Urban Planning, Municipal Politics, and
Guerrilla Warfare.
